Pagnotta Interiors is seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly organized Senior Interior Designer / Interiors Division Manager to lead and help grow our interior design company. This is a unique opportunity for a talented designer who enjoys both the creative and business sides of interior design. The successful candidate will take ownership of projects, guide clients through the design and selection process, coordinate closely with our architectural and construction teams, and help establish the systems needed to operate a successful and growing interiors division. Pagnotta Interiors is part of a well-established group of affiliated architecture, custom construction, real estate, and interior design companies serving Long Beach Island and southern New Jersey. Our integrated design-build structure allows the interior designer to collaborate directly with architects, construction managers, tradespeople, vendors, and clients from the earliest design stages through installation and project completion. This is not a narrowly defined decorating position. We are looking for someone who can lead projects, manage people and information, build strong client relationships, and help move the company forward. Primary Responsibilities Lead interior design projects from initial client consultation through final installation. Develop interior concepts, finish palettes, material selections, furnishings plans, and design presentations. Guide clients through selections for flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, paint, hardware, furnishings, window treatments, accessories, and related items. Prepare and maintain project budgets, specifications, schedules, selection logs, and procurement records. Coordinate purchasing, ordering, delivery, storage, installation, and resolution of damaged, delayed, or incorrect items. Work closely with the company's architects, construction managers, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and administrative staff. Review architectural drawings and contribute practical interior design input during design development and construction documentation. Conduct client meetings, showroom visits, site visits, and project presentations. Maintain clear and timely communication with clients throughout the project. Manage multiple active projects while keeping decisions, budgets, approvals, and deadlines organized. Help supervise and mentor junior and part-time interior design staff. Develop and improve company procedures, templates, vendor relationships, pricing systems, and quality-control standards. Assist in evaluating project profitability, design fees, procurement fees, and overall division performance. Support the continued growth and professional development of Pagnotta Interiors. Represent the company professionally in the community, at industry events, and in relationships with clients, vendors, and referral partners. Qualifications Five to ten years of professional interior design experience required. Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a closely related field preferred. Experience managing residential interior design projects from concept through installation. Strong understanding of materials, finishes, furnishings, cabinetry, lighting, space planning, and residential construction. Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings. Demonstrated experience working directly with clients, contractors, vendors, and design professionals. Strong project-management, organizational, budgeting, and follow-through skills. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities. Comfortable making decisions, solving problems, and taking responsibility for project outcomes. Proficiency with relevant design, presentation, specification, and project-management software. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites, showrooms, vendors, and company offices in southern New Jersey. Work Environment This is a full-time, primarily in-person position. The designer will work with our team from company offices in the Long Beach Island area, including our new Queen City office in Beach Haven, and will regularly visit client homes, construction sites, showrooms, and vendor facilities. The position may occasionally require evening client meetings or additional hours during important project deadlines and installations. Compensation Annual salary of $70,000-$90,000 , commensurate with experience, capabilities, and demonstrated leadership.
