Job Description
About us Swingle Countertops is a family-owned shop on Beaumont Street in Zanesville. We fabricate laminate and solid surface countertops right here in our own shop, build plam cabinets, and partner with trusted fabricators for quartz and natural stone. The countertop business we bought in 2014 has been serving this area for over 50 years, and a lot of our work comes from contractors and homeowners who've used us before or heard about us from someone who has. We're small. Everybody here knows everybody's name, and everybody's work shows up in somebody's kitchen. The job A kitchen or bath is one of the biggest purchases most people make, and most of them walk in nervous. Your job is to make that easy — figure out what they actually need, show them what it will look like before they commit, and make sure what we build is what they pictured. Day to day, you'll: Meet customers in our showroom and walk them through materials, edge profiles, sinks, and colors Build photorealistic 3D kitchen and bath renderings in 2020 Design so customers can see the finished room before they buy Turn field measurements and shop drawings into accurate quotes Work with our fabricators and installers so what's drawn is what gets built Follow projects from first conversation through install, and be the person the customer can call Support contractor and builder accounts who order from us regularly What we're looking for Experience in kitchen design or countertops is a plus, but we'll train the right person. What we can't train: Genuine care for the customer. You'd rather talk someone out of the wrong material than take the easy sale. Spatial sense. You can look at a room, or a sketch of a room, and see how the pieces fit. Attention to detail. A quarter inch matters here. So does a decimal point. Comfort with software. If you can pick up a new program and get good at it, you can learn 2020 Design. Follow-through. Customers get updates before they have to ask for them. Valid driver's license required — you'll occasionally visit job sites and customer homes. Nice to have Any experience with 2020 Design, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Chief Architect, or similar Background in kitchen and bath, cabinets, flooring, or building materials retail Experience working with contractors or general contractors Estimating or quoting experience What we offer Real training on 2020 Design and on how countertops are actually made — not a two-day orientation Base pay plus commission, so good work pays Monday-Friday schedule, no nights, no Sundays Paid time off / holidays / Dental / vision / life insurance
