The position involves influencing project specifications during the schematic and design phases, building long-term relationships within the A&D (Architecture & Design) community, and serving as a trusted technical resource for architectural acoustic interior solutions. The ideal candidate is a proactive networker, skilled presenter, and consultative salesperson who enjoys helping design professionals solve challenges related to acoustics, aesthetics, sustainability, and occupant well-being.

Yes (once draw is met) Potential for territory expansion: Chicago, Boston Start date: ASAP Reports to: President Key Responsibilities Specification Development Promote and secure specifications of company products with architects and interior designers. Educate design professionals on acoustical performance, product applications, design integration, sustainability attributes, and code compliance. Work with firms to ensure products are incorporated into project drawings and specifications. Monitor and manage project development from schematic design through construction documentation. Relationship Management Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within architectural and design firms. Conduct regular in-person and virtual meetings with specifiers. Organize and deliver accredited continuing education presentations (AIA, IDCEC, etc.). Attend local industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and professional association meetings. Technical Mediation Assist design teams with product selection, detailing, acoustical performance data, finish options, and customization opportunities. Leverage company's subject matter experts to engage with clients on interior acoustics and architectural product applications. Coordinate with the estimating team to provide budgetary guidance to support clients during schematic and design development. Project Tracking & Business Development Maintain project and contact information within CRM system. Attend weekly sales meeting. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. Experience in specification sales, architectural products, commercial interiors, construction products, or related AEC industry experience. Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications. Proven ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to regularly travel throughout the assigned territory(ies). Preferred Live within short commute to company offices and factory in Passaic, NJ. Experience calling on architects and/or interior designers. Knowledge of commercial construction processes. Familiarity with acoustics, architectural finishes, ceilings, walls, panels, or specialty interior products. AIA CES presentation experience. Existing relationships within the local A&D community. Desired Attributes Consultative and solutions-oriented mindset. Strong interpersonal and networking abilities. Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills. Comfortable discussing both technical and aesthetic design considerations. Passion for architecture, design, and creating better occupant experiences through acoustics. Performance Metrics - success in this role will be measured by:

  • Growth in specified project value.
  • Number and quality of A&D firm relationships developed.
  • Number of customer engagement events attended.
  • Educational presentations delivered.
  • Project opportunities identified and tracked.
  • Conversion of specifications into awarded projects and sales revenue (in coordination with Contractor Sales Representative). Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting salary: $75,000 structured as a draw against commission
