Job Description

A Westport, Connecticut interior design firm is seeking a full time Junior Interior Design Assistant to support the lead designer on high end residential and select commercial projects from concept through completion. This position is ideal for a polished, highly organized, detail oriented candidate with formal interior design training, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage both creative and administrative responsibilities in a fast paced office. The right candidate must be self motivated, resourceful, proactive, and capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines with professionalism and accuracy.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting the lead designer with all phases of the design process Preparing client proposals, presentations, and supporting materials Researching products, pricing, and vendor estimates Coordinating with vendors, contractors, and clients across multiple projects Tracking project schedules, follow ups, and deliverables Assisting with project administration and internal accounting systems Supporting sourcing, ordering, and general project management tasks Using Design Manager software for project and accounting support This role may involve occasional travel to client sites, primarily in New York City and the Hamptons, as well as limited travel to other locations within the United States. Flexibility with schedule is preferred.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in interior design or architecture, or an associate degree in interior design combined with relevant professional work experience Strong English grammar and communication skills, both written and verbal Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel AutoCAD proficiency required Design Manager experience is a plus Candidate must live within a 40 mile radius of Westport, Connecticut 06880 Please read carefully before applying: Applicants must meet the education and location requirements listed above. In person Remote work: No This is a full time hourly position with office hours of 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Interior design students with a light class load may be considered if they otherwise meet the qualifications and schedule requirements.
