Job Description
What You'll Do Client Design & Selections Meet with homeowners to understand their goals, preferences, and budget. Guide clients through the selection of cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, paint colors, and other finish materials. Help clients make design decisions that fit their style, needs, and project budget. Clearly communicate selections, pricing, allowances, lead times, and expectations to clients. Help create a positive and professional client experience throughout the planning process. Project Planning & Coordination Develop and maintain planning schedules for new and ongoing remodeling projects. Keep projects moving forward by coordinating client decisions, selections, drawings, and material orders. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to verify pricing, product availability, specifications, and lead times. Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and develop a reliable portfolio of products and suppliers. Coordinate with subcontractors when necessary to ensure materials and design details can be properly installed. Work closely with project managers, production staff, and field personnel to make sure selections are incorporated correctly into the construction process. Design & Drafting Assist with the development and revision of residential remodeling plans and interior designs. Create and modify floor plans, elevations, layouts, cabinetry designs, and other construction documents. Use Chief Architect to develop and maintain project drawings. Assist with cabinetry design, specifications, and ordering. Conduct job-site visits when necessary to take measurements and verify existing conditions. Project Documentation Maintain accurate records of client selections, specifications, revisions, and plan changes. Keep project information organized and accessible throughout the planning and construction process. Ensure that design decisions and selections are accurately communicated to the production team. What We're Looking For Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Comfortable working directly with homeowners and guiding them through design decisions and selections of finishes and materials. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong understanding of residential remodeling and construction. Good design sense and an understanding of residential interior design. Ability to work independently while also collaborating with project managers and field personnel. Comfortable discussing budgets, allowances, pricing, and project expectations with clients. Proficiency with CAD or residential design software such as Chief Architect, AutoCAD, 2020, or similar . 1-2 years of interior drafting, residential design, or remodeling experience preferred. Experience with cabinetry design and residential remodeling selections is a plus. The Right Person for This Position The right candidate doesn't have to know everything on day one.
