The Role The Senior Hospitality Designer is responsible for designing and facilitating hospitality projects for Hyatt's Lifestyle Group Division, including Bunkhouse and JDV Hotels. The person in this role will support the Head of Design and Director of Design, while coordinating with fellow design team members, clients, vendors, and consultants. They will be responsible for assisting with all stages of design from concept through CA and managing project-related tasks. Applicants must have greatmunication skills, the ability to problem solve, and a thorough understanding of the Bunkhouse and JDV brands and policies. Furthermore, all Design team members must develop and maintain thepany's culture, values, and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors, and partners.Job Responsibilities:
Ad to allpany operational standards, policies, procedures, training materials, and brand guidelines. Maintain clear and consistentmunication with staff, departments, vendors, consultants, properties, and leadership to supportpany objectives and project success. Collaborate on hospitality interior design projects across all phases, including programming, concept development, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, procurement, installation, and budget/schedule management. Support the Head of Design and Director of Design in daily project and administrative activities. Coordinate and manage small- to mid-scale projects for Bunkhouse properties, ensuring alignment with client objectives and Bunkhouse and JDV brand standards. Prepare and maintain project schedules, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, travel arrangements, project binders, digital folders, and presentation archives. Create and develop design presentations, mood boards, image research, renderings, and other visualmunication materials. Produce and coordinate 2D and 3D design deliverables, including floor plans, elevations, renderings, and presentation graphics. Prepare,anize, and maintain construction documentation, drawing sets, specifications, and related project records using Design Spec. Source, evaluate, select, and specify FF&E, OS&E, finishes, fixtures, materials, hardware, plumbing fixtures, and related products in accordance with project design intent and budget requirements. Maintain andanize the materials library, resource catalogs, digital photo library, and sample inventory. Coordinate and place orders for project supplies, samples, FF&E, and OS&E items, and track procurement activities through installation. Review and assess vendor, supplier, and contractor proposals, bids, and shop drawings; assist with bid requests, de-scoping, and contractor/vendor selection processes. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with property teams, consultants, contractors, vendors, and external partners; serve as a liaison between project stakeholders throughout all project phases. Coordinate and direct the activities of consultants, contractors, external production teams, and rendering/documentation resources as required. Assist in preparing and maintaining preliminary construction budgets, FF&E budgets, project invoices, bid packages, and proposals; monitor project expenditures and support budget tracking efforts. Willing and able to travel 15% of the time, including attending site visits, PIP walks, and project installations and openings. Coordinate andplete PIP's for potential hotel conversions. Attend project meetings, site visits, vendor meetings, and property walkthroughs to support project coordination, documentation, and implementation. Support contractor and vendor sourcing efforts and assist with managing external resources needed for project execution. Ensure all project documentation,munications, and deliverables are accurate,anized, and maintained in accordance withpany standards and project requirements. Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision. Qualifications MS, BFA, or BS in interior design or architecture preferred, but not required A minimum of five (5) years related experience in hospitality design Strong experience with the interior design process, including familiarity with FFE resources and construction documentation preparation Comprehensive knowledge of hospitality design standards and operations, including fire safety codes, ADA codes, and applicable codes for textiles, furnishings, and finishes Provenanizational abilities and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects, clients, andplex consultant relationships Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Spexx Proficient in Microsoft Suite (including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) and/or Google Suite (including Slides, Sheets, and Docs) Rendering skills for interior elevations, plans, finishes, and custom furniture Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to speak effectively before clients, colleagues, and sister property staff Ability to basic concepts of math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebra, using whole numbers,mon fractions, and decimals The person in this position will be based in Austin, but may be asked to travel Requirements are representative of the minimum levels of knowledge, skills and /or abilities to perform this job successfully.
