JOB DESCRIPTION
At Alder & Stone, we specialize in new construction, full-service interior design that goes beyond aesthetics. We design homes with intention! We strive to incorporate nature and organic materials into our design concepts and everyday life. We're seeking someone who blends strong creative instincts with exceptional organization—a combination that's hard to find. This role is ideal for a self-starter who cares deeply about the details, works efficiently, and is eager to be hands-on in bringing thoughtful, well-designed projects to life. You'll support the principal across all phases of a project, gaining hands-on experience in concept development, sourcing, technical documentation, and project coordination. In this role, you will: Support the principal with design concepts, presentations, and material selections Support the principal with creation of technical drawings, specifications, and documentation Source furniture, fixtures, and finishes (FF&E) aligned with project goals Help manage project logistics, including ordering, tracking, and vendor coordination Participate in site visits, installations, and client meetings Maintain organization across multiple projects and timelines Maintain the office and design library Prepare the office for client meetings This position is perfect for someone who is excited to build a strong foundation in interior design. QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years of professional interior design experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage full-service residential projects from concept through completion.
Design Process Expertise:
Deep understanding of all phases of the design process—including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation—with the ability to carry a cohesive vision through to final installation.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Revit is a , AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design software required. Experience with Canva, Materio, Asana, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace is preferred.
Portfolio:
A strong, well-curated portfolio that reflects a clear design perspective, technical proficiency, and thoughtfully executed residential projects.
Construction Knowledge:
Familiarity with construction documentation, building codes, and permitting requirements, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors and trade professionals.
Organization & Time Management:
Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadlines while maintaining design integrity and client satisfaction.
Communication:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused, collaborative approach; confident in leading meetings and presenting design concepts with clarity and professionalism.
Mindset:
Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable, with a strong sense of initiative; thrives in collaborative environments and is consistently inspired by innovation, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design.
Technology Driven:
Demonstrates ease and comfortability in working with new technologies such as ChatGPT and claude.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
