Qualifications & Experience:

Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and skilled in interpreting for a variety of age groups Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI), or equivalent credentials Experience interpreting in an educational setting is highly desirable Ability to effectively translate spoken and signed communication in academic, social, and extracurricular contexts Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities to ensure equal access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to gather details about individual student needs and support plans Contribute to IEP meetings, reviews, and communicate student progress to relevant stakeholders Support students during assemblies, field trips, special events, and other school functions as needed Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions and documentation
