In this full-time, school-based role, you'll work in a 1:1 capacity, using your interpreting expertise to help foster access to education, communication, and inclusion. Enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, working standard school hours. This assignment runs through May 28, 2027, offering the opportunity to build continuity and rapport with your student and colleagues alike. What you'll bring: Current Alabama SLI/Interpreter license or permit (required) Interpreting certification strongly preferred (RID, EIPA, BEI, etc.) Previous experience interpreting in K-12 settings preferred Background providing 1:1 student support is a plus Strong commitment to consistent attendance throughout the school year Excellent collaboration, communication, and organization skills Flexibility and dedication to the full-time, school-based schedule (8:00 AM - 2:30 PM; no modified or flexed schedules can be accommodated) Your key responsibilities: Deliver accurate sign language interpretation for one student throughout the school day Facilitate communication between student, teachers, and peers Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote student success and inclusion Maintain all necessary documentation and adhere to professional standards for educational interpreting Provide a positive, supportive presence in the school community You'll find yourself contributing to a warm, supportive school culture while developing strong relationships with staff and students.
