Qualifications:
Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) Previous experience in school settings, educational interpreting, or supporting students preferred Background working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) students, elementary learners, or students receiving special education services is a plus Reliable, patient, and communicative with strong interpersonal skills Comfortable working as part of a collaborative team EIPA or RID certification is not required for this position
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate ASL communication and provide classroom support to an elementary student Interpret or assist with communication during lessons, activities, and transitions Support effective communication among the student, teachers, peers, and staff Encourage participation and independence while fostering positive peer relationships Assist with classroom routines, learning assignments, and social development Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and school teams Contribute to creating an inclusive, accessible learning environment
