Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and fluency in receptive and expressive skills Experience interpreting within K-12 educational environments preferred Ability to adapt communication styles for a range of student ages and learning abilities Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills Relevant certification or licensure as required by the state
Responsibilities:
Provide clear, accurate ASL interpretation between students, faculty, and staff Support Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in both classroom and extracurricular activities Collaborate with educators to ensure accessibility and inclusion Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Serve as a cultural mediator as needed within the school community
