We are seeking dedicated Sign Language Interpreters for two full-time contract positionsone serving an elementary level and the other at a high school. Both roles offer the opportunity to collaborate within vibrant school environments near Palm Desert, providing interpretive services that empower students to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

Qualifications & Skills:

Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (national or state) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with fluency in both receptive and expressive interpretation Prior experience in educational settings, especially in DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) programs, is highly valued Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families Strong professionalism, dependability, and commitment to student success

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret classroom instruction and school communications, ensuring clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and peers Adapt interpreting style to the developmental level of assigned students (elementary or high school) Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and program staff to support individualized educational needs Foster an inclusive learning atmosphere, respecting confidentiality and promoting student engagement Participate in team meetings, IEPs, and training sessions as needed Enjoy a rewarding schedule working 35 hours per week, with immediate openings for both elementary and high school settings.
