MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
full-time experience using American Sign Language (ASL), preferably working with children. (Verifiable, supervised experience as a volunteer in a school or related organizational activity may be substituted for the work experience on an equal time basis);- Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent;
- OR•Passage of Level 4 Certification or higher from a California State Approved Interpreter Skills Evaluation Test, i.
- Sign Skills Evaluation-Interpreter and Receptive (ESSE-I/R) or the National Association of the Deaf/American Consortium of Certified Interpreters (NAD/ACCI) assessment. If providing Cued Language transliteration, a transliterator shall possess TEC Unit certification or have achieved a score of 4.0 or above on the EIPA
- Cued Speech.
- Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalence of a GED or higher.
