$45-65/h + mileage paid! Min. 2h of work per day. Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated In-Person Spanish Interpreter to join our team in San Diego. This vital role involves providing accurate, culturally competent interpretation services for special education students, in various settings. As an in-person interpreter, you will facilitate clear communication between Spanish-speaking clients and English-speaking professionals, ensuring understanding and fostering positive interactions. Your expertise will help bridge language barriers, promote inclusivity, and support the diverse needs of our community. Responsibilities Deliver precise and culturally sensitive interpretation in face-to-face interactions (virtual support is possible in the future). School-based special education services (K-12). Special Ed or Education background not mandatory, but highly appreciated. Skills Multilingual proficiency with fluency in both Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus. Strong understanding of professional ethics related to confidentiality, impartiality, and neutrality in interpretation roles. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey messages clearly and effectively in person. Deep cultural competency to navigate diverse communities with sensitivity and respect. Ability to adapt quickly to different environments while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
