Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience interpreting in educational settings (preferred) Current nationally recognized sign language interpreter certification (RID/NIC or equivalent) Commitment to clear, effective communication and maintaining student confidentiality Flexibility and adaptability when supporting various student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, real-time ASL interpretation for students and staff in classrooms and school activities Prepare for assignments by reviewing materials when possible Foster inclusive, accessible learning environments Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure communication goals are met Follow federal, state, and local guidelines for educational interpreting
