This contract position, beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 2027, allows you to use your expertise in American Sign Language while making a meaningful impact in an educational setting. The role offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 37.5 hours each week.

Qualifications & Experience:

Valid 4.0 or above EIPA or RID certification required Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or youth-centered environments strongly preferred Strong command of receptive and expressive ASL skills Ability to collaborate professionally with teams of teachers, staff, and families High level of professionalism, dedication, and ethical commitment Adaptability to meet the unique needs of middle school students

Responsibilities:

Interpret classroom instruction, activities, and discussions for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers in a variety of academic and social settings Prepare for classroom topics and adapt interpreting methods as needed for diverse subject matter Support educators in fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professional conduct
