Key Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency with an ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher. Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably providing individualized (1:1) support. Knowledge of classroom routines, IEPs, and best practices for inclusive communication. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families. Flexibility, reliability, and a caring, student-focused approach.

Core Responsibilities:

Provide real-time, accurate American Sign Language interpretation for a designated student throughout the school day. Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, peers, and staff. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics in all interactions. Support the students language development, access to instruction, social interaction, and participation in school activities. Work in partnership with school personnel to ensure the students accommodations and instructional needs are met.
