Job Description

Step into a meaningful, full-time opportunity supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students as a Sign Language Interpreter for the 20262027 school year. Working onsite, you will play a vital role in fostering access to education by bridging communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers. Your commitment will empower students to engage fully in classroom learning and school life.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver fluent American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for students during all instructional hours. Interpret classroom instruction, school assemblies, meetings, extracurricular activities, and related events. Facilitate clear communication between students, educators, and school staff to enhance educational experiences. Ensure confidentiality at all times, adhering strictly to FERPA and district policies. Coordinate with teachers, special education staff, and other related service providers in support of student achievement. Prepare by reviewing instructional material prior to assignments when necessary. Uphold professional standards and ethical guidelines specific to educational interpreting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hold or qualify for Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization (issued by the Colorado Department of Education). Possess an associates degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, ASL, or a closely related field. Have successfully completed the EIPA Written Examination. Attain an EIPA Performance Score of 3.5+ or hold current RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) Certification. Able to meet all Colorado Department of Education and district requirements, including background checks. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.
Schedule:
Full-time, onsite position (MondayFriday), following the academic calendar during the 20262027 school year.
