What You'll Do The Medical Interpreter facilitates clear and accurate communication between healthcare providers and patients with limited English proficiency across a wide range of medical and administrative interactions. This role ensures patients understand their care while supporting culturally sensitive communication and maintaining ethical interpretation standards. The interpreter also supports departmental operations, training, and special projects as needed. Provide accurate oral and written interpretation for medical, billing, insurance, and care-related conversations. Respond to interpreter requests across departments for patient appointments and healthcare services. Accompany patients during visits to assess and support understanding of medical information. Translate typed and handwritten materials between languages. Document interpretation activities according to hospital standards. Participate in training, meetings, and assist with special projects and assigned duties. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned. Who We're Looking For We're looking for a skilled and culturally aware Medical Interpreter who can ensure clear, accurate, and compassionate communication between patients and healthcare teams. The ideal candidate brings strong language abilities, professionalism, and the ability to navigate sensitive clinical environments with confidence and care. Bilingual proficiency in both Spanish and English with the ability to accurately interpret meaning, tone, and cultural context required. Qualified interpreter credentials required. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including professional phone and email etiquette. Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective when handling sensitive, urgent, or complex situations.
