Your expertise will support a wide range of environments, including healthcare, social services, and legal settings, where precise interpretation and cultural sensitivity are essential. Responsibilities Provide real-time interpretation between Spanish-speaking individuals and English-speaking professionals across various settings such as hospitals, clinics, social service agencies, and legal offices. Accurately translate spoken communication and document conversations while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy standards such as HIPAA. Assist with understanding medical terminology, patient records, and documentation review to ensure accurate information exchange. Support communication during child protective services cases, hospital procedures, or social work interactions by interpreting complex information clearly and compassionately. Utilize knowledge of American Sign Language if applicable to enhance communication accessibility for deaf or hard-of-hearing clients. Maintain detailed records of interpreted sessions, ensuring proper documentation for legal or medical purposes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate effective communication while respecting cultural nuances and sensitivities. Qualifications Fluency in both Spanish and English is required; proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus. Proven experience in interpretation within healthcare or social services environments preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology, hospital procedures, and patient confidentiality standards such as HIPAA. Bilingual skills with excellent communication abilities to convey information accurately and empathetically.
