Blazer Jobs are seeking a full-time Speech Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide speech-to-language and language-to-speech interpretation services for students in educational settings throughout Broward County, Florida . The Speech Language Interpreter will work collaboratively with Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), educators, and support staff to ensure students with communication needs have equitable access to instruction and school-based services. This is a contract position offering a weekly salary and full benefits . Key Responsibilities Provide interpretation services for students with speech, language, or hearing-related communication needs in classroom and school environments Interpret spoken language into the student's primary mode of communication (e.g., sign-supported speech, verbal repetition, augmentative communication) as directed by the supervising SLP Support students during academic instruction, therapy sessions, assessments, meetings, and school activities Collaborate closely with Speech-Language Pathologists, teachers, and school staff to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) Assist with reinforcing speech and language objectives under the supervision of a licensed SLP Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and district policies Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment for students with communication challenges Qualifications & Florida State Requirements To work as a Speech Language Interpreter in Florida , candidates must meet the following: Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED (minimum) Completion of an approved Speech Language Interpreter or related communication training program Demonstrated proficiency in interpretation techniques appropriate for speech and language support Experience working with children or students with communication disorders preferred Florida State & School-Based Requirements Ability to work under the supervision of a Florida-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Completion of Florida Department of Education (FDOE) school employment requirements Background screening and fingerprinting in accordance with Florida school district regulations Knowledge of
