Typing Full Job Description Overview:
To provide general clerical support to the patients and staff of a patient care unit by functioning as receptionist, transcriber, monitor of medical records, and information/communication specialist. The Unit Clerk provides administrative support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Understanding of medical terminology preferred. Demonstrated continuous work experience required. Previous clerical experience preferred. Work experience in positions requiring extensive phone contact, public contact, or public service preferred. Ability to work flexible hours/shift and to alternate weekend. Also, must successfully complete 12-hour computer (HIS/LRIS) training course and Clerical Training Program. Clear speech and legible handwriting. Ability to handle multiple demands/requests simultaneously; attention to detail; manual dexterity; typewriter keyboard/computer familiarity. Two years of college preferred.Benefits
