Qualifications:

Proficient in American Sign Language ASLPI proficiency score of 4.1 or higher required Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in schools or with children preferred Ability to work on-site, providing in-person support throughout the school day Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language for a designated student, facilitating effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers Provide clear, accurate interpretation in classroom activities, assemblies, and school events Support the student in accessing curriculum and participating fully in school life Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure consistency and success in the academic environment Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
