Updated 08/28/2026 Job Description Job Summary Five Rivers Analytics, an Akima company, is looking to hire an On-call/temporary/part-time American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter/Communication Facilitator support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities Requires a flexible schedule with no guarantee of hours each week. Provide support that increases the effectiveness of supported Departments and Directorates employees. Efforts entail American Sign Language interpreting. Support in this area will include working with Government civilian employees, contractors and others to promote communication. Interpreter work is unclassified but may include PII and/or information of a sensitive nature up to the Secret level. Become familiar with the DoD, Navy, and local
NSWC PCD
policies and procedures for performing the work required. Qualifications Active Secret clearance or (be a US Citizen able to obtain an Interim Secret to start). Must be skilled in rapid-fire conversations, providing translation between spoken and sign language. Must be able to communicate the accurate meaning of what is being spoken. Must be able to translate oral or written language to sign language. Possess the ability to make independent determinations concerning accuracy and thoroughness of the translation.
