- We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and those who can hear.
- Responsibilities
- Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa accurately
- Provide interpretation services in various settings such as meetings, appointments, and events
- Ensure effective communication by conveying tone, emotions, and nuances of the message
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality while interpreting
- Stay updated on sign language vocabulary and industry-specific terminology
- Requirements
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other sign languages
- Strong linguistic skills with the ability to interpret and translate effectively
- Bilingual proficiency is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification or degree in Sign Language Interpreting or related field is a plus
