This full-time position offers the chance to work one-on-one with a 5th grade male student within a general education classroom during the 2026-2027 school year. In this role, you'll serve as a crucial link, supporting inclusive learning and helping to bridge communication for a student who depends on your expertise. The school day runs from 7:30am to 2:30pm, with a weekly commitment of 35 hours. Preferred applicants bring both passion and experience, with keen attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to student learning outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Active GaPSC Sign Language Interpreter Educator Certification Ability to obtain or already possess district-level fingerprint clearance Previous experience in a school setting as a Sign Language Interpreter is preferred Strong understanding of American Sign Language (ASL) in educational contexts Professionalism, empathy, and excellent communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver sign language interpretation services in all classroom activities for a 5th-grade student Facilitate clear communication between the student, peers, and educators Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and support staff to enhance the learning environment Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in educational interpretation Support the student's independence and academic engagement This contract offers an inviting schedule following the academic calendar, with school holidays and weekends free.
