Key Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language, with prior experience as a sign language interpreter, preferably in school settings. A minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA). Willingness to pursue and obtain Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) interpreter licensure (support for the process will be provided). Strong understanding of Deaf culture and educational terminology. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills with both students and staff. Professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to fostering student engagement and independence.

Primary Responsibilities:

Interpret spoken communication into sign language - and vice versa - for all classroom activities, assignments, and peer interactions for one high school freshman.
