Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a dynamic school environment as a Sign Language Interpreter. In this full-time, onsite role, you'll provide essential 1:1 interpreting services for the entire academic year, enabling students to fully participate in classroom activities and school life.
Key Qualifications:
Hold a valid Georgia Department of Education Sign Language Interpreter license (wavier not accepted) Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language and proficiency in educational interpreting Experience working in K-12 educational settings strongly preferred Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Committed to confidentiality and supportive of student independence and inclusion
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct, 1:1 sign language interpreting for a student during all scheduled instructional hours, including classroom instruction, school events, and scheduled activities Facilitate communication between student, peers, educators, and other school staff Maintain accurate records of interpreting services provided Collaborate with educational teams to ensure the student's full access to curriculum and social opportunities Uphold ethical standards and best practices aligned with state and federal guidelines This contract runs from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027, and follows the full school schedule, providing stability and continuity for both you and the student.
