A Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) is needed to provide one-on-one interpreting services for a high school student for the remainder of the school year and beyond. This full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday) ensures you will become an integral part of the students daily academic life, fostering clear communication and full participation in classroom activities.

Key Qualifications:

Hold an active Georgia Educational Interpreter/GaPSC Certification Possess either RID Certification or an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher Previous experience interpreting in school settings is preferred Strong understanding of the needs of high school students and experience working individually with students Full-time availability with consistent, reliable transportation Professionalism and adaptability in dynamic school environments Ability to provide accurate, confidential, and culturally sensitive interpreting services

Primary Responsibilities:

Interpret classroom instruction, peer interactions, and school activities to support one high school student Collaborate closely with educators, staff, and families to promote student success Facilitate accessible communication in both academic and extracurricular settings Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interpreting situations Contribute insights on student needs and communication strategies as part of the educational team This contract role offers a chance to directly impact a students daily learning experience while gaining valuable school-based interpreting experience.
