Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Columbus, Georgia BlazerJobs - 3.6 Columbus, GA Job Details Full-time | Contract 14 hours ago Qualifications School experience Family collaboration in education Collaboration with other professionals for student support Working with students Working with families Full Job Description Make a positive impact by supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings as an onsite Sign Language Interpreter. This contract role offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant and collaborative school environment located near Columbus, GA for the upcoming school year, with the assignment running through May 21st, 2027. There may also be the possibility of some pre- or post-planning days. Both full-time (at least 37.5 hours per week) and part-time schedules may be considered.
Required Experience and Certification:
Hold an active Georgia Educator Certificate for Sign Language Interpreters with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher Alternatively, candidates with closely qualifying EIPA scores who are planning to re-take the exam may be considered as SLI techs, with potential to transition to a full SLI position during the school year Comfortable documenting daily services by maintaining thorough, accurate logs Ability to collaborate with school staff, students, and families to facilitate inclusive learning Experience or comfort working with various age groups in a school environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation for students in classroom and school activities Foster access to curriculum, peer interactions, and school events Partner with educational teams to identify best placements aligned with your expertise and student needs Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies and ethical standards Complete required documentation daily to accurately record services provided This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in students' educational journeys while honing professional skills.
