Job Description
Make a significant impact supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter in a vibrant learning environment for the upcoming school year! Two on-site interpreters are needed for a contract opportunity, providing services to students in a dynamic and supportive educational community near Fort Benning, GA. This full-time role (minimum of 37.5 hours per week, with possible part-time flexibility) runs from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, and may include some planning days before and after the official dates. What you'll need to be successful: Current Georgia Educator Certification for Sign Language Interpreters with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher OR SLI Para with close EIPA scores actively planning to retake the exam (potential for transition to a full SLI position during the school year) Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a student-centered mindset Willingness and ability to complete daily service logs accurately Comfort discussing your age group preferences and experience level during the interview to ensure the best fit within the caseload Commitment to professionalism, discretion, and teamwork in school settings What you'll do: Interpret for students in a variety of classroom and school-based settings according to their individual needs Collaborate closely with educational teams and families to foster student success Maintain accurate daily records and service documentation Adapt communication style to suit various ages and learning environments Uphold confidentiality and support a positive, inclusive culture Enjoy the fulfillment of directly contributing to students growth, all while benefiting from the stability and support of a long-term assignment with optional flexibility in hours.
