Job Description
Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract A full-time onsite Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) position is available within a school district in Muscogee County, Columbus, GA, for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract role will begin on August 3, 2026, and continue through May 21, 2027, with possible additional pre- and post-planning days. The position requires at least 37.5 hours per week, though part-time hours may be considered depending on availability. Key responsibilities include providing sign language interpretation services for students, maintaining daily logs to document service delivery, and collaborating with district staff to support communication access. Candidates will discuss age group preferences and experience during the interview to determine the best placement within the district.
Qualifications and experience desired:
Active Georgia Educator Certification specifically for Sign Language Interpreters EIPA score of 3.5 or higher Comfort and ability to complete detailed daily service logs Previous experience interpreting in educational settings preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Onsite presence is required; remote or VOCO candidates will not be consideredLocation:
