Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students by providing crucial support as an onsite Teacher for the Visually Impaired during the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to shape your caseload around your preferences and expertise, with placement determined during the interview process to best match your skills with student needs. You'll have the chance to work collaboratively within a supportive environment, focusing on individual student success.
Key Qualifications:
Active Georgia Educator Certificate for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) required Previous experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting strongly preferred Comfort with documentation, including maintaining accurate daily service logs Strong communication skills and adaptability; willing to discuss age group preferences Flexible approach and ability to work onsite (remote/VOCO candidates not eligible)Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality instruction and support to visually impaired students, adapting lessons and environments to individual needs Collaborate with general and special education staff, related service providers, and families Assess student abilities and progress, contribute to IEP meetings, and help develop student-specific goals and accommodations Maintain thorough and timely service logs and documentation as required by the district Engage in pre- and post-planning as needed to ensure smooth transitions throughout the school year Those hired for this contract enjoy professional growth opportunities and the potential for a flexible, tailored caseload.
