Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services for a contract role supporting schools. This position is based in Grovetown, GA, and operates on a 1099 contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide accurate and professional sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions for students and school staff. Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals and healthcare or educational professionals. Adhere to confidentiality guidelines and maintain professionalism in all interactions. Collaborate with telehealth providers to ensure accessibility during remote consultations. Document and report interpretation sessions as required.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, particularly within educational or telehealth environments. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with medical and educational terminology. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting. Strong communication skills and sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity. Capacity to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
