Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students in a diverse educational environment as a Sign Language Interpreter working with a satellite program serving grades 5-8. In this contract role, you'll provide interpreting services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students both in a specialized classroom setting and as they participate in mainstream general education classes and related services. School hours are from 8:15 am to 3:00 pm, offering a predictable weekday schedule.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiar with educational interpreting techniques Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in a school setting or with children is highly preferred Ability to adapt signing style to meet the unique communication needs of individual students Comfortable interpreting in both classroom and one-on-one settings, and during related service sessions (such as occupational therapy or social work) Reliable, punctual, and able to collaborate with teachers, staff, and service providers
