Desired Qualifications:

Minimum EIPA score of 3.0 or higher Eligibility for, or possession of, a Professional Educator License (PEL) specific for interpreting in schools Strong command of expressive and receptive American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to interpret in a classroom and school community setting Adaptability and teamwork skills for working alongside educators and support staff Previous experience with DHH students at the middle school level is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Provide sign language interpreting services for DHH students in mainstream and specialized classroom settings Accurately facilitate communication between staff, students, and families using ASL and other appropriate methods Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and specialists to ensure access to curriculum and school activities Support language development and comprehension as part of the educational team Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions
