Requirements:

Valid certification: EIPA score of 3.5 or higher with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Approval, or EIPA score of 3.03.4 with ISBE Interim Approval. BEI, ISAS, CI/CT, or NIC credentials also accepted, provided ISBE Approval. Proven skills in American Sign Language interpretation for classroom settings. Demonstrated ability to facilitate communication between students, staff, and the school community. Professionalism, punctuality, and collaborative spirit. In this role, you will: Provide interpretation for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ensuring full access to educational content. Translate spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction and activities. Support student learning and participation within both individual and group environments. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards related to educational interpreting. Effectively partner with teachers, staff, and families to support each students success.
