Key Qualifications:

Hold a valid Illinois Sign Language Interpreter license Experience working with high school students preferred Ability to interpret and transliterate between American Sign Language (ASL) and English Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and educational accommodations a plus Strong communication skills and professional discretion

Primary Responsibilities:

Interpret classroom lessons, discussions, and school events for deaf and hard-of-hearing students Collaborate with educators and support staff to implement effective communication strategies Support students' participation in all aspects of school life, including academic and extracurricular activities Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by school policies Uphold confidentiality and comply with district, state, and professional standards
