Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, accurate, and compassionate Romanian Interpreter to provide professional interpretation services for educational settings. Most assignments involve supporting school districts and families during special education meetings and other educational interactions.

Assignments may include:

Individualized Education Program (IEP) Meetings Section 504 Meetings Parent-Teacher Conferences Educational Conferences School Meetings Teacher Phone Calls Community Meetings Interpretation assignments may be conducted in person or virtually , depending on the needs of the school district. Responsibilities Provide accurate, impartial, and professional interpretation between Romanian and English. Interpret consecutively and simultaneously when appropriate. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics. Prepare for assignments by reviewing available materials and terminology. Travel to schools and meeting locations throughout the Hinsdale and surrounding area as needed. Accurately manage assignment scheduling, documentation, and reporting. Maintain professionalism when working with educators, parents, administrators, and students. Required Qualifications IEP Certification or documented professional experience interpreting IEP and 504 meetings is required. Native or near-native fluency in both Romanian and English. Professional interpreting experience. Strong understanding of educational terminology and the special education process. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Ability to pass a background check. Comfortable providing both in-person and virtual interpretation using platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience interpreting for K-12 school districts. Formal interpreter training or professional certification.
