This part-time, contract opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about supporting communication access in schools. Working closely with one student, youll help foster a positive, inclusive learning environment each afternoon.

Key Qualifications:

Minimum EIPA score of 3.0 or higher Applied for or currently hold an active Professional Educator License (PEL) with approval to interpret in Illinois schools Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong interpersonal skills Previous experience working with students or in school settings is highly valued Reliability and professionalism in maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one interpreting services for a high school student during afternoon academic sessions Collaborate with educational staff to support the students learning and participation Adapt language modality and strategies to meet individual student needs Accurately convey spoken and signed communication in an educational context Maintain required documentation of services rendered in compliance with school policies

Monday through Friday, from 12:30 3:00 pm

12.5 hours per week
