9657543-60069 Job Description Bring your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter to an impactful role serving students from early childhood through 12th grade throughout Lake County. This full-time contract opportunity allows you to support and empower visually impaired students across multiple district campuses, making a difference every day of the school year. Work a consistent weekday schedule from 8:00am to 3:30pm with a guaranteed 7.5-hour workday, which includes a lunch break. You will interact with a diverse caseload of approximately 12 to 18 students, traveling to various schools to ensure that each receives the communication access and instructional support they need to thrive.

Key Qualifications:

Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter, with demonstrated skills supporting school-aged children Ability to effectively interpret in an educational setting across a range of grade levels (EC12) Understanding of the needs of students who are visually impaired and experience supporting this population is highly valued Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to work with students, staff, and families in various locations

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide sign language interpretation for students, facilitating clear communication within academic, social, and extra-curricular settings Support individual education plans in collaboration with teachers and school staff Travel between district schools as assigned, managing your schedule efficiently to maximize student support Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards for educational interpreters This contract offers a unique chance to travel within Lake County, bringing your skills where theyre needed most.
