Job Description

Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students through your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter. This full-time, full-year contract position offers the chance to work 1:1 with students, making a lasting impact by promoting accessible communication and inclusion in an educational environment. Collaborate closely with students, educators, and staff, facilitating understanding and engagement throughout each day.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter Minimum EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 Proficiency in American Sign Language and familiarity with Deaf culture Experience providing 1:1 interpreting services in educational or similar settings preferred Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to respecting student confidentiality Adherence to professional standards and ethical guidelines for interpreters
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver clear and effective interpretation for a designated student across classroom activities and school events Collaborate with educational teams to support the student's learning and participation Accurately interpret spoken content, instructions, and discussions into sign language, and vice versa Help foster a supportive, inclusive environment that empowers student communication and self-advocacy Adapt interpreting strategies to meet the unique needs and learning styles of the student Maintain thorough, respectful communication with both students and staff Enjoy the rewards of making a difference every day in a dynamic school setting.
