A dedicated Sign Language Interpreter is needed to work 1:1 with a student, ensuring equitable access to classroom instruction and activities. This is a full-time, full-year contract opportunity based near Wheatfield, IN.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

Valid credential as a Sign Language Interpreter Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 required Experience interpreting in K-12 educational environments preferred Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) and English Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and administrators Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries

Key Responsibilities:

Provide real-time sign language interpretation for a designated student in a mainstream classroom and throughout the school day Facilitate effective communication between the student and teachers, peers, and other school staff Adapt signing levels and modes to match students language needs Support the students participation in lessons, activities, and social opportunities Collaborate with educational teams to support IEP goals and student progress Participate in professional development and team meetings as needed Maintain accurate records of interpreting activities and student interactions This position offers the chance to work in a supportive educational environment, making a direct impact by empowering students to thrive academically and socially.
