Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities await for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter ready to make a meaningful difference in students' lives. In this contract role, you'll play a vital part supporting inclusive education for students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or experience limited or no verbal communication. Your expertise will be central to fostering understanding and access, especially in specialized programs designed for diverse communication needs. This position requires an educational sign language interpreter with a strong foundation in supporting K-12 learners. You'll work on-site at least four days a week (in-person or hybrid), ensuring direct engagement and collaboration with staff and students. Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI level or higher) 0-3 years, 4-6 years, or 7+ years experience working with children or youth in educational settings Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of interpreting in multi-modal communication environments Experience supporting evaluations and adapting communication for students with differing needs Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, other interpreters, and support staff Commitment to fostering an accessible, inclusive classroom environment
