Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal role supporting students with hearing impairments as an Itinerant Teacher, working full-time Monday through Friday according to the school calendar. Beginning as soon as possible and continuing through late May of 2027, you'll collaborate closely with the Coordinator of Speech, Hearing, and Autism in the Student Support Unit. Your primary focus will be delivering instruction at the resource level, consulting with general education staff, and ensuring an inclusive learning environment for hearing impaired students.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and active Louisiana teacher's certification in Hearing Impaired required Minimum of three years' experience educating hearing impaired students in general education settings Previous VOCO experience essential Proficiency in sign language and adeptness with equipment such as hearing aids, cochlear implants, sound field systems, and assistive listening devices Demonstrated ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to inform instruction and recommendations Strong written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences Comfort with technology and maintaining documentation including IEPs, progress notes, and quarterly reports Professionalism, problem-solving, and collaborative skills Capability to provide in-service training for school personnel

Responsibilities:
