Sign Language Interpreter in Harvey, LA Soliant - 3.9 Harvey, LA Job Details Full-time | Contract 15 hours ago Qualifications Educational interpretation Interpretation Experience working with high schoolers Working with students Full Job Description Make a real impact in the lives of high school students by providing expert sign language interpretation services in a dynamic educational setting. This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through May 27, 2027, for 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, following the school calendar. As a key communication partner, you'll facilitate equitable access to education and support student success every day.
Qualifications:
Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter for high school-aged students EIPA score of 4.0 (performance) and written exam required; must appear on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health) RID and NIC certification accepted, provided you also hold the EIPA written Commitment to complete fingerprinting and drug screening, in addition to standard credentialing process Ability to adapt to changing caseloads and work effectively across one or more school sites (exact assignments TBD) Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a genuine desire to support students' educational journeys
Responsibilities:
Deliver accurate, clear sign language interpretation in both classroom and school environments for high school students Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to ensure students' needs are being met Prepare for classes and school events as required, supporting classroom instruction, testing, and extracurricular activities Maintain confidentiality, compliance with FERPA, and precise records as needed Participate in school meetings or professional development opportunities as requested Why consider this role?
