Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students in the New Orleans area as an Itinerant Teacher of the Hearing Impaired. You'll work closely with resource-level hearing-impaired students, ensuring they receive optimal educational opportunities and empowering both students and staff. This full-time role (37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday following the school calendar) offers the chance to collaborate within diverse school settings, reporting to the Coordinator of Speech, Hearing, and Autism in the Student Support Unit.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree along with Louisiana teacher's certification in Hearing Impaired required Minimum of three years' experience teaching hearing-impaired students in a mainstream educational setting Strong communication skills, able to inspire and foster inclusive environments Effective analytical and problem-solving skills using both quantitative and qualitative data Proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams and drive results High level of professionalism and ability to manage multiple priorities Proficient at troubleshooting and maintaining hearing assistance technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants, assistive listening devices) Basic sign language proficiency a must Strong computer skills; capable of maintaining IEPs, progress notes, and related documentation Must pass district fingerprinting and drug screening requirements

Key Responsibilities:
