Job Description
Make a Lasting Impact— We are hiring for (Contractor) Qualified Interpreters Fluent in English and Spanish, English and Portuguese and English and Haitian Creole. We are currently seeking Qualified Interpreters Fluent in English and Spanish, English and Portuguese and English and Haitian Creole. The interpreter will provide language support for families and staff during home visits, school meetings, events, and communications to ensure meaningful access for non-English-speaking families. About the
Role:
Schedule - No guaranteed schedule or hours (per diem) This contract role is for an as-needed basis; some evening or weekend assignments may be required. In person interpretation support required. Ability to support services at each of our centers; Gloucester, Salem, Beverly as well as in the community as requested. Rate - $35-$50 per hour (based on education and experience) This position does not include benefits. What will you do? Provide accurate, impartial, and culturally appropriate oral interpretation between English and Spanish, or English and Portuguese or English and Haitian Creole during home visits, school meetings, phone calls, and events. Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all interpreting assignments. Support communication for various agency departments (Education, Mental Health and Disabilities, Health, Social Services, Family Support, Parenting Education etc.). May include occasional written translation of short communications (e.g., notices, flyers, or forms). Record and submit hours worked and assignments in accordance with Agency procedures. What do you need?Required:
Fluency in English and Spanish, English and Portuguese or English and Haitian Creole. High school diploma or equivalent. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interpret accurately and maintain confidentiality. Citizenship, residency or work visa requiredPreferred:
Prior experience providing interpretation in an educational or community setting. Familiarity with school terminology and family engagement settings. Completion of interpreter training or certification program Other Requirements (related to in Program licensing standards): Valid MA driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and/or reliable transportation required.
