Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract A full-time Educational American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter position is available in Rock Hall, MD, serving an elementary student in a 1:1 capacity. This role spans the school year from August 24, 2026, through May 2027, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing skilled ASL interpretation to support an elementary student's communication needs within the school environment Collaborating with educational staff to ensure effective communication access and inclusion Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all student interactions Adapting interpretation strategies to meet the individual needs of the student Qualifications and experience desired: An EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 4.0 or higher or RID/NIC certification Candidates working toward certification are encouraged to apply Experience working in educational settings, particularly with 1:1 student support, is preferred Strong knowledge of ASL and educational interpreting techniques
