Category Schools - Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role supporting student success as an ASL Interpreter for a 9th-grade student in a school setting. This contract, full-time position starts as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year. You'll be integral in helping bridge communication, attending classes with the student and conveying each lesson in real time.

Key Qualifications:

Proficient American Sign Language (ASL) skills, with experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings Ability to accurately interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and various learning activities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Understanding of secondary school curriculum and classroom dynamics Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to student needs Relevant certification or licensure as required for educational interpreting Professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to confidentiality

Core Responsibilities:

Accompany a 9th-grade student throughout their school day, interpreting all instructional content and peer interactions Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and classmates Adhere to established interpreting protocols in classroom environments Support the student's participation in both academic and extracurricular activities as needed Maintain accurate records and collaborate as needed with educational staff and support services Remain flexible and responsive to changing classroom needs and schedules Enjoy the opportunity to work one-on-one with a student, supporting their academic growth and confidence. The full-time schedule consists of approximately 6 hours daily during school days.
